American Friedkin Group Acquires Everton Football Club

The Friedkin Group, an American company owned by billionaire Dan Friedkin, has finalized its acquisition of Everton Football Club, taking over from Farhad Moshiri. The deal, agreed upon in September, received approval from the Premier League, Financial Conduct Authority, and the FA.

This acquisition ends Moshiri's turbulent eight-year ownership of the club. The Friedkin Group, which also owns AS Roma, is expected to bring financial stability to Everton, which has struggled financially and is preparing to move into its new stadium in the 2025/26 season.

Previous attempts to sell the club to 777 Partners failed due to lack of approval.
