Biden Signs 50 Laws, Including 'Paris Hilton' Act

President Joe Biden signed 50 new laws on Christmas Eve, including the 'Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act,' also known as the 'Paris Hilton law,' which protects teenagers in treatment facilities. This law was driven by Paris Hilton, who testified about her own abuse in such institutions.

Other laws include one that prohibits convicted members of Congress from receiving pensions, another that mandates reporting of hazing incidents at universities, and one that designates the bald eagle as the official bird of the U. S.

On the preceding day, Biden commuted the death sentences of 37 federal inmates to life imprisonment and vetoed a bill that would have created 66 new federal judgeships.
